💼 Role Overview

As a Donor Relations Trainee, you’ll participate in a structured training program that introduces you to every aspect of donor relations—from stewardship and engagement to data analysis and reporting. You'll play a key role in helping to build and maintain meaningful relationships with donors, ensuring their contributions are acknowledged, appreciated, and impactful.


🛠️ Key Responsibilities

  • Donor Stewardship: Support personalized outreach efforts to thank and retain donors through thoughtful communications, updates, and recognition

  • Engagement Initiatives: Assist with planning and executing donor engagement activities, including virtual and in-person events, newsletters, and appreciation campaigns

  • Database Management: Accurately maintain donor information using CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, Bloomerang), ensuring up-to-date and organized records

  • Research & Reporting: Analyze donor giving trends and engagement history to inform future strategies; prepare regular performance and impact reports

  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with the development, communications, and event teams to align donor outreach efforts with broader fundraising goals


Qualifications & Ideal Candidate

You’d be a great fit if you are:

  • A strong communicator, both written and verbal, with the ability to connect with diverse audiences

  • Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks and timelines

  • Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset and willingness to learn from peers and mentors

  • Comfortable adapting to feedback and shifting priorities in a dynamic nonprofit environment

  • Passionate about philanthropy, community impact, or social good

  • A high school graduate (required); college coursework or a degree in communications, nonprofit management, fundraising, or a related field is a plus

No prior experience in donor relations or fundraising is necessary—we provide full training and mentorship.
